We are very happy to announce the birth of Octanone! Well, not his birth, exactly, Lucien Montandon aka Octanone has been around for a while, but he has just released his debut EP, “Früener”, with a little help from us, and he will join our lovely family!
His music fuses wicked, danceable rhythms with his native Swiss German tongue – something no other artist has ventured into before, as far as we know. Octanone is a daredevil, so to speak, but listening to “Früener” you have to ask yourself: Why has nobody thought of this earlier?
Check out Octanone in all his beauty here! And like him on Facebook!
laFayette have been remixed! Actually, they’ve been reworked before, but this here is the first “official” remix off of the “Sputnik” EP (which you can buy at your trusted digital dealer). We love it for its darkish, post-dubstepesque vibe. Great work, SPHNX/I!
Say Hi to Sputnik, everybody! The debut EP from our lovely family members Jascha and Simon aka laFayette has been born today. It has turned out beautiful, big and is quite heavy, but in a good way! Oh, it also features the massively talented Basel-based singer Lena Fennell on two tracks! You can listen to it on SoundCloud and buy it right thurrr! Or in any other digital shop of your fancy. There will be special editions on Vinyl and digital with a poster artwork. More on that later! For now, enjoy the music!

Today, we are very happy to present to you the first song from “Sputnik”, the quite frankly astonishing debut EP by laFayette. It is called “Light Breeze, Crickets” and is a four and a half minute tour de force through modern electronica. Funky rhythms, throbbing bass, dreamy synths and an exotic guitar that makes you think of Paul Simon, Graceland era. I won’t babble too much, just check it out for yourselves. “Sputnik” will be out on September, 30!
Our beloved We Loyal have been featured in the current issue of Kinki Mag. Highly recommended, but in German!
We are very delighted to announce that our beloved laFayette have announced their debut EP for this fall. They are currently in the studio working out new sounds. We are massively excited and we hope you are, too!
It’s that time of the year again, when during two days Basel becomes the capital of Rock: BScene is happening today and tomorrow. This means a weekend full of music with a sh*tload of bands (we honestly don’t really know how many and are too lazy to count them all) on 15 stages in the city’s finest clubs.
PlusPlus is more than happy to announce that our dearest laFayette and The Amber Unit will also be a part of the fun, and rumour has it that the guys of We Loyal will be banging some Drums on Saturday night. Also, Jan will take the stage again for the lovely Lena Fennell.
So here’s your PlusPlus-plan for the weekend:
Fr, 1.4.:
00.00: The Amber Unit @ NT Lounge/Erlkönig
00.00: Lena Fennell @ Parterre
Sa, 2.4.:
22.45: laFayette @ Voltahalle
00.00: We Are Drums @ Voltahalle
(full schedule here)
On Friday night at Zurich’s Exil Club, We Loyal will play as part of this years M4Music lineup! They are going to share the stage with fellow Basel band The Bianca Story and New Zealand’s hottest shit (at least for the moment) The Naked and Famous. Tickets are from 39 Swiss Francs, we strongly suggest you check out the rest of the program as well – amongst others The Streets and Ebony Bones are playing!
On this coming Saturday, the 26th of March, our revolutionary family members The Amber Unit will be presenting their new Album “While you started a Revolution – We started Love” live for the first time – and the whole World can watch! With one click log on to www.livestream.com/theamberunit and be a part of a flabbergasting event.
From 7 pm the boys will stream the concert live from their practice room and get you into the mood for a great night!
So, spread the word, love the music and enjoy!
