BScene Basel is happening

It’s that time of the year again, when during two days Basel becomes the capital of Rock: BScene is happening today and tomorrow. This means a weekend full of music with a sh*tload of bands (we honestly don’t really know how many and are too lazy to count them all) on 15 stages in the city’s finest clubs.

PlusPlus is more than happy to announce that our dearest laFayette and The Amber Unit will also be a part of the fun, and rumour has it that the guys of We Loyal will be banging some Drums on Saturday night. Also, Jan will take the stage again for the lovely Lena Fennell.

Catch We Loyal at M4Music

On Friday night at Zurich’s Exil Club, We Loyal will play as part of this years M4Music lineup! They are going to share the stage with fellow Basel band The Bianca Story and New Zealand’s hottest shit (at least for the moment) The Naked and Famous. Tickets are from 39 Swiss Francs, we strongly suggest you check out the rest of the program as well – amongst others The Streets and Ebony Bones are playing!

The Amber Unit stream concert from their practice room on March, 26!

On this coming Saturday, the 26th of March, our revolutionary family members The Amber Unit will be presenting their new Album “While you started a Revolution – We started Love” live for the first time – and the whole World can watch! Jan supports Lena Fennell

Great news: Jan plays again – after having rested his guitar (publicly, at least) for much of last year, he will take up his axe again and support Lena Fennell, a lovely person and superbly talented Singer/Songwriter from Basel. She just released her album “Nauticus”, which you should listen to and buy here.

Jan will be playing as part of Lena’s backup band on these three dates, don’t miss them:

We Loyal go New York!

We are royally stoked! We Loyal are going to New York! They are going to hit the Big Apple next week and they are going to play a couple of concerts over there as well. Here are the dates:

Our first Longplayer!

We have exciting (and short-term) news for you: We are going to release our first Longplayer, our PPR01 (after last year’s PPR00 with We Loyal’s 7″ Single) this very Saturday, January 29! We are superexcited, quite frankly we are shitting our pants.

The band is called The Amber Unit and you should be familiar with them if you are from Basel. The happy foursome of Victor, Stevie, Yves and Emanuel have been around for some time now, you might also know them as Whysome. Well, the Whysome days are past, The Amber Unit era is on! The album is beautifully named “While you started a Revolution – We started Love” and reflects on what we all experience once we get older: All you need is Love, because even Revolution No. 9 can grant you Satisfaction (okay, enough of stupid pop cultural referencing).

The album contains eleven highly seductive songs that will make you dance and make you make love. You will be able to download the album via all legal downloading platforms thinkable (the album hasn’t leaked yet, sorry!) or buy the CD via cede.ch, for example. Show some love! – There will be concerts and even a record release party is in the planning. We will keep you up to date!

Rounding off 2010, looking into the future – and a Remix!

Here we are, at the end of PlusPlus’ first year in existence. We were talking it slow for the first couple of months, therefore an all-encompassing recap of 2010 wouldn’t really fit here. Instead we are teasing you with this cryptic announcement: There is going to be another band within the PlusPlus collective very soon which will also mark the coming of the first long playing record that goes somewhat under the PlusPlus banner.

We are very excited to see what 2011 will have in store for all of us. For now, we shall leave you with a beautiful Remix of Adrian Sieber’s “Prototype”, done by the fabulous laFayette. Enjoy!

Hello again and “new” family member

It’s been awfully quiet, we know. And we are sorry about it. We’ve been working some behind the scenes. We Loyal have been out and about a bit over the summer, most notably sharing the stage with one Greis (for all of you who are not in the know: he is one of Switzerland’s better known rappers).

Right now we are in the process of discussing next steps. We Loyal have plans, and we want to get some administration stuff done to assure that you’ll be able to hear more of us in the future. Furthermore we are currently looking at some potential new family members, which might not be from the musical faculty. We are talking image and design!

And, last, but most certainly not least, we officially took up a new family member: Jenny has in fact been in the PlusPlus collective from the start, but now we are coming out with her as our star youngster. She will support the behind-the-scenes team of PlusPlus.

Lately she has been playing keys with Basel’s own Mañana, together with Jan she remixes other people’s music as JJJK. More from them soon, hopefully. For now, we are very happy to have you on board, Jenny!
